Blue 2 Fire Information
The Blue 2 Fire, located eight miles north of Ruidoso in the White Mountain Wilderness Area, has burned 7,532 acres.
Evacuations levels for the Blue 2 Fire will change starting at 4:00 PM on June 2, 2024.
Fire Restrictions in Ruidoso
The Village of Ruidoso, NM has implemented Level II fire restrictions effective immediately on Friday, April 14, 2024.
Commercial fire pits are permitted for use if specifically approved by the Fire Marshal.
South Fork Fire Updates
The South Fork Fire, discovered on June 17, 2024, is located in the same area as the Blue 2 Fire.
Ruidoso is currently under Level 2 Fire Restrictions due to dry conditions. Smoke from the South Fork Fire covers the sun, casting an orange light across the Lincoln National Forest.
Smoke from the South Fork Fire continues to rise above the tree line as the fire progresses.
